About the Author Steven Heller is the cochair of the MFA Designer as Author program and cofounder of the MFA in Design Criticism program at the School of Visual Arts in New York. He was an art director at the New York Times for 33 years and is currently the editor of AIGA VOICE and a contributing editor to Print, Eye, Baseline and I.D. magazines. He has written more than 120 books on design and popular culture, including Design Literacy, Paul Rand, and Stylepedia. In 1999, he received the AIGA Medal for Lifetime Achievement. He lives in New York City. Véronique Vienne is the author of The Art of Doing Nothing and The Art of Imperfection. She has worked as an art director at a number of magazines and is a frequent contributor to Graphis and Metropolis magazines. Read more
